New Opportunity - Engineering Manager - Midlands (Manufacturing facility. Role Summary: In this role you will be responsible for the management, direction and co-ordination of all engineering activities across the plant. This includes providing the engineering support to ensure that the required production/quality/cost/environment and safety standards are continually achieved. The Engineering Manager role reports to the GM and manages a staff of up to fifteen engineers as well as service contractors. Core Responsibilities: Overall responsibility for implementing capital expenditure projects and budget preparation and management. Responsible for providing engineering support to ensure that the production volumes are achieved through efficient running of production lines. Management of the annual maintenance programme of production equipment and plant facility. Manage and develop staff through involvement, delegation and regular reviews of job performance. Ensure all engineers are working in a safe manner and that existing/new tasks are risk assessed, with standard operating procedures implemented and trained out. Management of equipment service visits, including service contracts and contractors on-site. Maintenance of Engineering records for Health & Safety, BRC and general compliance. Provide leadership in health and safety as well as participating and complying with all audits. Provision of Services including Fire Safety, Water, Air, Refrigeration and Boiler. Maintenance of PM schedule and records including Maintenance Handover Sheets. Ensure all PMs are kept up to date with changes to and introduction of new equipment. Ensure accountability for all Engineering spares, contracts and budget in general. Ensure permit to work rules are used where required. Manage communication and work commitments with all departments outside the core team. Experience Required: Recognised Third Level Engineering Management qualification. Minimum of 5 years previous experience preferably in a Food or Pharma environment. Proven experience working at Management Level. Strong budget management, planning and organizational experience. Track record in project management. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. PLC Experience (Siemens S7), Proven knowledge of Computerised Engineering systems. Proven knowledge and understanding of packing machinery. Experience in Energy Efficiency Projects. Understanding of TIG Welding, Stainless steel fabrication. Knowledge of Ammonia Refrigeration Plant and steam generation. Our clients will be interviewing early August for this position, so this process will move quickly as it is critical hire.
